Musicians are tuning their guitars and vendors are cleaning their grills as Palm Coast prepares for the 2nd annual Rock N’ Rib Fest taking place Saturday, April 9th from 12 pm – 9 pm.
Attracting all walks of life, the Rock N’ Rib Fest is a hybrid festival/concert that promises great food and great music. Friends and families gather lakeside in Central Park with lawn chairs in hand to secure their spot center stage. Local bands entertain while visitors mingle and eat the best food around.
With more than 25 vendors present, attendees have a variety of food to sample. Being a “rib” fest, however, BBQ is the feature item. Choose from BBQ sandwiches or rib plates served with baked beans and cole slaw. Have a hamburger or hot dog, or maybe sausage and peppers. The grills will stay fired all day long. Seafood lovers should not fret. There will be plenty of saltwater treats available as well.
Local musicians hit the stage at 1 pm and Showcase their talents through rock, country and blues. It is not until 8 pm that this year’s headliner will grace the stage. From Jefferson Airplane to Jefferson Starship, the legendary voice of Mickey Thomas is celebrating Starship’s 25th Anniversary Tour in Palm Coast. Starships’ top 40 hits will take Rock N’ Rib Fest fans back in time with songs such as We Built This City, Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now and Winds of Change.
“Rock N’ Rib Fest is about the community coming together for a good time,” said David Ayers, General Manager of Beach 92.7fm. “While the national acts {Creedence Clearwater last year and Starship} make it an enjoyable event, it’s really a big social get together with families and friends.”
Attracting an estimated 10,000 people last year, Rock N’ Rib Fest is a cooperative community event between the City of Palm Coast, Beach 92.7fm and Vanguard Live. Adult tickets are $15 in advance, $25 at the gate. Kids and parking are free. Proceeds from the event will benefit several local charities. For more information visit www.beach927.com.
